Pollution Prevention

The Lane Area Pollution Prevention Coalition (P2C) is a group of public entities working collaboratively with business, government, non-government organizations, and other sectors to promote environmental protection through pollution prevention.

The Lane Area P2C group works cooperatively to:

  • Incorporate pollution prevention measures into agency programs;
  • Avoid a piecemeal approach to pollution prevention and program development;
  • Increase focus on multi-media environmental results and preventive solutions;
  • Share resources for pollution prevention projects;
  • Enhance efficiency in the delivery of prevention services;
  • Provide consistent regional environmental messages
  • Improve communication and interrelationships between agencies; and
  • Support existing agency missions and partnership agreements

History
The Lane Area P2C was established in 1998 to promote environmental protection through pollution prevention (P2). Members include the Lane Regional Air Protection Agency, Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, Lane County, City of Eugene, City of Springfield, Eugene Water & Electric Board, and Springfield Utility Board.
